The Whispers

The Indie Post has featured the Whispers on the cover of its August 20, 2023 issue, Volume 4. They share many of their childhood memories, as well as their journey to re-record their catalog.

CBS news featured the Whispers on their "Spotlight" episode on the day they were performing before a soldout audience at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center along with Stephanie Mills.

One of the Whispers'  founding members, Gordy Harmon passed away in his sleep on January 5, 2023 at the age of 79. Gordy was with the Whispers at the beginning of their career, even before they gained worldwide recognition and fame. He left the group in 1973 after an accident where he injured his larynx. Leaveil Degree took his place. Gordy was a writer and pioneer in the music industry. He will be sorely missed.

Scotty, Walter and Leaveil sat down with Tank and J Valentine to share their history, stories, goals and advice about the music industry.  Tank is a Grammy nominated R&B singer, songwriter, producer and actor. J Valentine is an R&B singer and songwriter, known for writing songs for many artists including Tyrese, Ron Isley and Jamie Foxx

December 1, 2022 marks the release of Black Link Magazines' Holiday Issue featuring the Whispers on the front cover and an article about their career on page 10.  They will be joining the host Marva Thomas at 5pm PST this date on Instagram live at @blacklinkmag

11-28-2022 - The Whispers have received the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award from Soul Track Magazine headed by Chris Rizik. Every year the readers vote for their favorite musicians in various categories. This year, the Whispers were their favorite legend. Read more on their website:
