Get Ready For the 60th Anniversary Album

Release date is February 13, 2026

The countdown is on for the legendary Whispers’ latest historical album, set to be released on February 13, 2026—the day before Valentine’s Day. In remembrance of the group’s former members, and in acknowledgment of Walter Scott’s final recorded performances, Scotty and Leaveil honor them all. Spanning from 1964 to 2024, The 60th Anniversary Album features songs that cover six decades, ranging from some of their most memorable hits to selections from their newest catalog.

The founding lineup included twins Wallace “Scotty” Scott and Walter Scott, along with Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson, and Gordy Harmon. In 1972, Leaveil Degree replaced Gordy Harmon, and remarkably, there have been no lineup changes since.

The first and third tracks, “It’s Been Too Long” and “How Long,” reflect the length of time since the group’s last album release—19 years ago—with For Your Ears Only, released in 2006.

Official Statement on Behalf of The Whispers Organization and the Family of Walter Scott

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of Walter Scott, co-founder and beloved member of the legendary R&B group The Whispers, on June 26, 2025, following a brief illness.

Walter was a force of musical brilliance, a beacon of grace, and a pillar of harmony whose voice touched generations. His presence on stage was commanding yet humble, and his contributions to the world of music will resonate forever. From timeless love songs to unforgettable live performances, Walter was part of the very soul of The Whispers. His impact is immeasurable.

On behalf of the Scott family, we kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time. The family is mourning a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished loved one. We are also disheartened by the inaccurate and speculative information that has circulated in the media and on social platforms since Walter’s passing. Out of respect for the family and his legacy, we urge the public and press to honor the truth and refrain from sharing unverified or misleading details.

As someone who had the honor of working closely with Walter, I can personally attest to his warmth, humility, and the kindness he extended to every fan, friend, and colleague he met. His legacy will live on in the hearts of millions.

Despite this heartbreaking loss, Walter’s twin brother Wallace “Scotty” Scott and musical brother Leaveil Degree — together known as The Whispers — will continue to carry the torch. With great difficulty, but even greater love, they will honor his memory by continuing to perform, keeping The Whispers’ legacy alive in appreciation of the fans who have supported them for over six decades. In the words of their biggest hit, "And the Beat Goes On", and as their latest single says, "Maybe the Fire Isn’t Out”.

We thank everyone for the outpouring of condolences, kind messages, and unwavering support. While Walter’s earthly journey has come to a close, his voice, spirit, and music will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come.

This statement serves as the only official communication regarding Walter’s passing at this time. Further information, including memorial arrangements, will be shared at a later date.

Condolences or tributes can be shared via The Whispers’ official Instagram page where you can view tributes from family, friends, and fans: @themightywhispers. For public relations inquiries, please contact: baentertainmentservices@gmail.com or quezentertainment@gmail.com.
